And let’s be honest, as the many seasons of Bravo’s Top Chef have come and gone, and there are always a number of interesting moments in most episodes —- not all of them. There’s always that shocked and surprised chef. While many of the good recipes from these top chefs stick around, eventually nearly all of them have to pack their knives and go.

Corn chowder and then Alfredo

So I’ve been on a tear lately with cooking — trying a mix of basics and gourmet. Unfortunately none of what I’ve made, I don’t believe, has been on Top Chef on Bravo TV. That’s ok, my wife doesn’t know that…

So, I made a corn chowder last week. I added too much salt, but other than that it’s very healthy ;-)

And then I altered this Fettuccine Alfredo recipe to use Farfalle with shrimp, salmon, and sweet peas and broccoli. I didn’t want a strong sauce as I thought the fish and vegetables would suffice. My 22 month old daughter loved it. My wife, well, she didn’t really touch the shrimp (all the deveining and peeling, yeeesh).
